November 11, 1984: Toronto’s own Dennis Maruk reached 300 career NHL goals, and he did it at Maple Leaf Gardens against his hometown Leafs. The Minnesota North Stars sniper scored twice that night, goals 300 and 301, helping his team edge Toronto 7-6.
Maruk, known for his slick scoring touch, finished with 356 goals in an 888-game career that included standout seasons with Washington, where he notched 50 and 60 goals.
