I just realized that if the meanings of words didn't change, the Gay Straight* Alliance would be a group of people who like brightly colored narrow sea passages.
And the word Lesbian would always be capitalized and a Lesbian bar would probably be frequented by old Greek men.
*Okay, so they're only homophones.
I like how they go into interpreting the denotational possibilities of the very obviously obscure-on-purpose language of the interviewee.
