Oh! The original link doesn’t work anymore, but the story had been copied onto Fan Forum. A while back, people had asked about the old VM/Denny Morrison story in which they got into trouble after Worlds 2012. The story:
Virtue, Moir and Morrison raise the roof at celebration party By Cam Cole, Vancouver Sun March 31, 2012 2:00 PM The text message popped up on Olympic champion Tessa Virtue’s phone the other day -- she was showing it off in the wee hours of Friday morning, at a party celebrating her second world ice dancing title with partner Scott Moir. It was a picture of Fort St. John speed skater Denny Morrison, holding up his 1,500-metres gold medal from the recent world single distances championships in Heerenveen, Netherlands. Below the picture were the words: “Your turn!” “So what could I do?” said Virtue. “We had to win.” They did. And when the Skate Canada party started, who was there but Morrison and his Canadian teammate Shannon Rempel? The celebration at a partly-enclosed outdoor cafe a few blocks from the Palais des Expositions arena got a little loud and someone from a neighbouring apartment building called the police to complain of the noise. A squad car rolled up, and after a stern warning to the restaurant owner and profound apologies all around, the scene ended with Virtue, Moir and Morrison -- all introduced as holders of “medailles d’or Olympiques” -- outside in the street, posing for pictures with the officers while Skate Canada officials negotiated an amnesty. It was one of the neatest bits of diplomacy you’ve ever seen. “It’s not the first bar I’ve helped keep open,” said a grinning Morrison, as the police departed, their work done. The party continued ... at lower volume.
