In the deep jungles of Gujarat, in Jambugodha Wildlife Sanctuary, sits a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman- Zand Hanuman. Do you believe in fairytales? No. Do you believe Mahabharata ever occurred? 😁🆗. Legend has it that the Pandavas spent some time in this land during their 12 years of exile. The shrine above is a small temple built by the Pandavas (5 brothers) for Lord Hanuman. On the left of the shrine, is a temple that encloses an 18ft statue of Lord Hanuman that has been believed to have been carved by Bheema(2nd Pandava) himself. The well above is believed to have been created by Arjuna(3rd Pandava) with his blessed bow and arrow. Of course, in time, a wall was built around the well and a hand pump has been put in place. This well does not dry, even when gujarat experiences drought (this is what the locals say). There is no direct road leading to this temple. It’s a rough, exciting, rocky, muddy drive; sometimes using dry river beds as a path too. Although last time I visited this place there was construction going so maybe next time the trip won’t be as fun as the previous times 🤦🏽♀️. Mahabharata took place about 5000 years ago. There are two ways you can view this: with Faith accepting absolute truth through the texts and what has been taught throughout culture, or with a Fact based opinion for which these creations have limited availability of measurable and verifiable evidences that make people cautious and doubtful.
