Topographic anatomy of Superior Labial Artery and Inferior Labial Artery branches from Facial Artery. These arteries are responsible for upper and lower lips. However there is so many studies on this due to vascular complications upon lip filler treatment or in other name, lip augmentation. Injections of hyaluronic acid (HA)-based fillers is increasingly popular in response to the growing interest in physical appearance. Complications like upper/lower lip necrosis may arise as a result of direct injury, compression, or obstruction of the superior or inferior labial artery (SLA/ILA). To prevent these adverse effects a detailed knowledge of the topographic anatomy of the SLA/ILA is needed. .
