A specimen from my personal collection ~ This is a skull of a child that still has all of its baby teeth. The bone has been cut away to expose the adult teeth growing below the gumline that are ready to pop into place after the baby teeth fall out (the orange color is a resin used to hold the teeth into place –It was originally clear, but has yellowed over time) This skull is almost a century old, but skulls are still prepared like this as teaching tools for students training to be become dentists.
