My patients have always said my injections are fairly ‘nice’ comparatively, and I always try my best to inject slowly (a fast delivery of solution is the main cause of pain). However, getting the Dentapen has made me realise I inject much too fast (it’s probably not possible to deliver at the gold standard speed without a device). I have been using this for the last few weeks and my patients have noticed far less pain for infiltration injections. It does take a little getting used to as you need to leave slightly more time for LA but definitely worth it, particularly for nervous patients. Another big benefit is intraligamentary injections are far more effective when using it! It is not bulky and very easy to use. I’ve been using it with the new Evolution needles which are sharper (scalpel designed bevel) but it can be used with any needle/LA cartridges. Has anyone else tried it?
