looking at monster rancher stuff has me thinking about early pokemon and the vibe it had when it was still finding its place as an Enormous Fucing Brand. what are your favorite gen 1 and 2 pokemons

I wasn't allowed to play or watch pokemon as a kid (because of satan's dark influence) but as an adult I can confirm that the following are the best pokemon from the first two gen:

meowth/persian

feraligatr

espeon

sandslash

paras

heracross

Of all games I have the least experience with gen 2 and it's kind of a shame because they really have like an organic vanilla flavor to them. Like pretty simple but pushing the boundaries ever-so-slightly.

Idk after playing so much MR the past few weeks I've kind of realized how much brand control pokemon has been exercising since the very beginning.
