Free books (please read Citizen)
Yesterday, at the kick-off event for Denver Talks, I got to stand outside and hand out free copies of a book I believe in to anyone who wanted one. It felt AMAZING.
Lighthouse, in conjunction with the Denver City Council and the NEA Big Read, is giving away free copies of Claudia Rankine’s brilliant, beautiful, and important book Citizen: An American Lyric. The next six weeks will be full of free workshops, art-making classes (including a poem box class I’m teaching, more on that later), discussions, readings, and more, culminating on a free talk by Claudia Rankine on November 15. More info is available at the Denver Talks site.
If you want a free copy of the book, they’re available at Redline Gallery, Coffee at the Point, and other places.
