Brief Review
The Broncos beat the Bucs as expected but may have lost their starting quarterback to “injury”.
That injury dominated the weekly news
Although Trevor was ‘slightly’ injured in last weeks game, the unproven rookie Paxton Lynch will start on Sunday versus the Atlanta Falcons. Denver radio personalities can’t hide their joy. The coup in Dove Valley succeeded.
Kubiak vs Elway?
Trevor vs Paxton, is it just a battle between the coach and management? Trevor is Kubrick's guy and Paxton is Elway’s. Since the injury isn’t serious, it seems Elway pulled rank and gave the starting nod to Paxton. I kind of feel sorry for Kubiak. He’s always been Elway’s number two. If Elway gets his way this time, with this roster move, is he the new Al Davis?

Strength of Schedule
The Falcons have played a tougher schedule than the Broncos. The Falcons have played the Raiders who are 3-1, the Broncos have played the Bengals who are 2-2. The rest of the opponents have identical 1-3 records.
The Falcons enter the game at 3-1, the Broncos are 4-0.
Today’s Outlook
The Broncos have already beaten two of the top teams from last year. The 15-1 Panthers and the 12-4 Bengals. The Broncos defense is as good as is was last year. Paxton is getting his first nfl start, a major negative in terms of winning, but he has the Denver D behind him, so….Denver should win.
The Falcons have started off the 2016 season almost as good as their 2015 season. I say that because in 2015 the team started out undefeated through several games, but then they lost. That loss snowballed into multiple losses and buried their season. A similar journey begins today.
Today the Broncos face the number one team in multiple offensive categories. The Falcons won’t be atop the ratings at the end of the day.
