there's something fishy going on around here. (and from riddle, who may or may not be smirking a little-)
❝ haha, how hilarious, ❞ the words slipped from azul's mouth with a smile that was far too polished to be sincere. the joke, if it could be called that, flopped onto the conversational floor like a fish out of the water. unwelcome and awkward. as if every quip directed at the octavinelle dorm had to come with some aquatic pun, as though being born of the sea meant he must forever suffer through fishy metaphors. ❝ that was very clever of you, ❞
riddle wasn't wrong, of course. with him, jade and floyd involved there was always something brewing beneath the surface. the problem was simply that azul had no intention of revealing what that something might be. especially not to someone as rule-bound as heartslabyul's crimson tyrant.
❝ i'm guessing you must have been spending more time with floyd ? ❞ azul asks with arms crossed over his chest, a light tug onto the corner of his lips as he knows exactly how he should deal with this. ❝ is that why you're in the mostro lounge ? ❞ azul tilted his head. ❝ i can go get him, if you like. ❞
