that wasn't right . their phone buzzing , eyes glancing down at the message , frozen . definitely wasn't what they thought it would be , considering that demetria's dating his brother -- this was going to make things worse , if not , awkward . they're conflicted , heart beating loudly against their chest , trying to contemplate things , wondering what to do , how to RESPOND to something like a NUDE PICTURE . fingers tapping on their phone , wanting to tell someone , but who ? at this point , they were going to try & keep it to themselves , soon opening the message , completely hesitant on replying .

            —             “HEY,” lyra said as soon as the phone stopped ringing, indicating that the other had picked up. it was late, later than was probably socially acceptable to be calling people, but she wasn’t about to lose sleep over it. they’d definitely been together later than this before. “ARE YOU BUSY?” she asked, not waiting for the other’s response. “I JUST HAD A VERY BAD DATE AND I AM FUCKING DEPRESSED. “you’re not the first person to be denied a job,” iris gave them a shrug. it wasn’t meant to sound cruel, not at all. being on set was high strung and cut throat. actors, directors, writers, best boys, grips, so much more. one hand ran through her hair and with that iris turned fully towards them. “you’re not going to get the job based on being here alone. you’re going to need to do more.”
