The Saint: The Frightened Inn-Keeper (3.20, ITC, 1965)
"The Saint? It's time he was fitted with a real halo."
"Precisely. Simon Templar's not here for the sea air. He's on to us, he's a real danger. Eliminate him."

Herbert‚ last seen being chummy as anything with Simon way back in 1.3 as Hoppy; he's entirely different#here as a snarling‚ boorish bully‚ but it's nice to see an actor like Herbert (often typecast) spread his wings a little. Neve is lovely of#course‚ in fact one of the most charming and likeable Saintly ladies thus far; Simon is fairly well behaved with her too (although a threat#of giving her a 'whacking' did not go unnoticed by your viewer‚ who is developing a real concern about Simon's behaviour with women)#this would be a notable episode for killing off the Saintmobile if it wasn't for the fact that Simon immediately replaces it with an#identical model at the close of the episode. also this must have one of the smallest credited casts of an ep yet (tho there are several#actors in uncredited roles‚ particularly in the prison scenes)
