Biography: 

Derek had a goal in mind from the moment he hit his first homerun. He was good at it, he was told this so many times. It was something that he loved to do so why not make a career out of it. It all made sense to him in the long shot. It wouldn’t be a nine to five job he knew that, he also knew that it didn’t matter how hard he worked getting drafted into the minor leagues was a game of chance even more so into the major leagues. Giving up his life in Illinois would be hard, everyone telling him that he would be back in a month but he took the chance even if it meant risking everything and putting college back a couple years. IF he wasn’t meant to play baseball then life would give him sign that he wasn’t meant to do so simply by not getting drafted.

but he did and he moved up the ranks until he finally made it to Dodger stadium and donned the blue uniform with his last name on the back. It was an honor to wear it and he was proud to do so even if his roots were back home. He created a reputation for himself as being one of the hardest working players on the field, making the sport look easy because it was his passion. Although he knew his time was limited it was something that he wanted to do because of how much it meant to him. The fame never got to him. it wasn’t like he was being bombarded on the street signing baseballs, he got recognized a couple times on the streets and he simply waved. Fans came with he territory that much he knew, more so since he was in LA.

It wouldn’t last forever, once his arm gave out he knew it was only a couple more months that he had left. It was showing in the way that the balls left his grip and he no longer had control. The decision to take a step back before he made a fool of himself. His agent was able to give him a job doing the same thing that happened to him when he was younger, scouting. Finding that new talent that helped him launch his career. His new location. Rockford.

Personality: 

The fact that Derek grew up with a single mom shaped his life in more ways than one. It taught him to be responsible but at the same time ambitious with something he wanted. He used his charm to mauver his way through his baseball career all the while being the golden boy that his mom raised him to be. He’s not one to bullshit another and has always been level headed when it comes to his everyday.
