T0W3RS - If All We Have Is Time
Meet humbly cerebral, original yet familiar, tantalizingly experimental, rock and roll. Love at first listen.
T0W3RS currently includes (the man the myth the legend) Derek Torres, Sam Logan, Karen Blanco, Jacquelyn Lee Huntington, and Zeke Krautwurst.
They hinge between categories, emoting a kind of fuzzy old time feel bridging old rock and psychedelics. Truly North Carolina natives, a nestling, rolling, sweet small southern town ease underlays each track. DiggUp blogger Linnie Greene describes their sound as “the tightrope between the universal and the extraterrestrial”.
Their latest album, If All We Have Is Time, flows neatly into each song in a single, sensual, thirty minute listen. There is not one unfavorable song.
“Big Sky” enters sweet stepping, pulling you small town close, barefootfirefly-outdoordancehall, stringing gentle choral progressions like lantern lights. Think: lovechild of Edward Sharpe and Fleet Foxes. “Darla” and “Logan” both boast those familiar southern swimming layers. “Logan” echoes, “you know you’re not alone, you know you’re not alone”. “Scout/” demonstrates T0W3RS’ true talent and duality, pairing gorgeous pianolines with percussive synth.
Somehow, as of now, their Facebook page has just about as many likes as the page for my cousin’s turtle. SUPPORT SMALL BANDS! They are set to release their next album, WYATT, this Tuesday October 23. Old or new, don’t miss a single song.
