                    a soft sound comes from the girl as she shifts on the floor by her fathers feet, her eyes are half lidded -- pages of books are between her little fingers and the fire crackles by her feet, drowning in her fathers socks -- she’d assumed her role well, an ideal daughter to say the least.                     she glances upward, yawns and makes to places her hands carefully on her fathers lap, pushing herself up so that her small, slender frame with bones threatening to break her skin could curl up in his lap, mumbling something in french that didn’t even make sense to her, really.
