AHH OMG OK. GURL LET ME TELL YOU.

***I’M JUST GOING TO GET IT OUT THERE THAT I LIKE TERUSHIMA AS A CHARACTER (kinda)—HE’S A DUMB AND EXCITED CHILD ALMOST LIKE BOKUTO— BUT I FELT REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE WITH SOME OF HIS ACTIONS.***

I’ma just add a read more since this IS a rant.

Ok so there are three things that bothered me about this scene and Terushima’s actions.

1) In the post with the screencaps I reblogged, it is clearly seen that Terushima and his friend are harassing Kiyoko and she is obviously uncomfortable. I mean this part is pretty self-explanatory. Kiyoko is being cornered, feeling uncomfortable about giving her number to the two.

2) It’s really nice that Hinata stood up for Kiyoko. Like, omg good job my sunshine child. And we already know that Hinata was pretty intimidated by Terushima and his friend just by their appearance. Hinata was able to muster enough courage to “protect” Kiyoko. But this situation kinda bothered me because it displayed that typical “knight protecting the princess” scenario. It may have just been me (most likely), but this rubbed off on me as Kiyoko couldn’t defend herself, and needed a male figure to defend her from harm.

3) Later on, outside of the screencaps, in chapter 108, Hinata and the rest of Karasuno bump into Terushima and the rest of Johzenji High VBC. Terushima sees Kiyoko and starts hollering at her and making her feel uncomfortable. In one of the panels, Kiyoko is wearing an uncomfortable expression. Tanaka and Nishinoya, obviously ticked, almost attack Terushima. But, they’re stopped by Johzenji’s 3rd year manager, Hana Misaki. She apologizes to Karasuno for Terushima’s behavior. This. This. This. Omg. I know she meant well, trying to fix the damages that Terushima had caused in the past. But like, why is she the one apologizing? Terushima just walks off, no guilt for his previous actions. And also, Misaki apologized FOR him. She didn’t scold or tell him that he was wrong. She said sorry (for someone else), and that was the end of it. Terushima didn’t learn anything from his mistakes, and that is pretty problematic.

(Point 2 was kinda like idk. Idk. But like Points 1 and 3 were more strongly formulated??? Idk. Burn me.)
