I read an article claiming that the derivatives had a value of 23 times the world’s GDP, so 28 would not be out of the realm of possibility. Remember, no actions were taken to stop the derivative market post 2008. Brooksley Born went head to head with Greenspan in front of a Congressional Committee in the late 90s, claiming derivatives were illegal, and accurately predicting what the result would be. She lost and resigned. Greenspan should have been sent to prison, for life, along with every POS in the Big Casino.
