Conch Punch healing journal:
In case anyone is interested, I got a large gauge conch/conch punch piercing done today. It was done at 4g/5mm in size:

Since these piercings are not super common, I wanted to make a post that I’ll update daily on what my experience was like. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Day 1: Piercing:
Pain of piercing: 4-5/10. Hurt less than my tragus or helix piercings (which to me were 7/10 at least and felt very intense). The punch was done very fast and I didn't feel any discomfort from jewellery insertion. The ‘punch’ is from a dermal punch which is basically a medical device that cuts out a circle of skin quickly as opposed to a regular needle. Its usually used for biopsies in the medical field.
It just felt like a helix piercing but less painful and spread over a wider area (as my conch punch was done at 4g or 5mm). Afterwards they held gauze against my ear until any blood stopped. I didn’t feel any blood, but there was apparently a little.
I was super surprised afterwards on how painless this was. I was super nervous beforehand and thought it would be terrible.
Day 1 Healing:
Dull aching pain started shortly afterwards, at its peak this was 6/10 for discomfort.
After 2 hours, this decreased to 3/10 for discomfort.
After 5 hours (currently), the aching pain is pretty much gone aside from the piercing feeling slightly swollen.
I’ll give an update tomorrow as well as what sleeping with it with feel like.
We did something fun at work yesterday. Got my ears cored to a 2g and it actually didn’t hurt as much as I thought it would, like I’ve gotten my traguses pucnhed and stretched to a 10g so getting a punch isn’t new to me (my right tragus is smaller then my left so it hella migrated) but this is way bigger. Like the worst part was when the punch first starts to break the skin but it’s in the pain just kind of...it’s there but it stops like I’m pretty sure it’s got something to do with adrenaline and junk, but I’m totally stoked on them and can’t wait for them to heal.
Would anyone be interested in a conch punch piercing/healing journal/diary post?
The piercing isn’t that common, and I’d be happy to let people know my experience, if there is an interest.
I’ve been obsessed with large gauge conch piercings lately
Ugh, I really want to get these done some time. They look really good. I’d probably get them done at 4g or 2g in size.
Here’s what they look like (shown at 2g):
I’m just a bit scared of the pain/aftercare.
my helix punches are already almost healed! i just got the sutures taken out, once they're healed i'm probably gonna go get my eyebrow pierced
just got my ears done by pineapple at shaman mods! punched at a 0g and sutured for a faster healing time. he used some local anesthetic so i didnt feel anything at all! fast work too, i was out in under an hour and 30 minutes
Scarification done with a dermal punch, with ink massaged into it❤
