so, five weeks after i had gotten my first piercing (my nostril), i had to get the jewelry replaced because the gem had fallen out and the jewelry was oxidizing and turning green up top. much to my chagrin, the shop was closed during regular hours (with no note left behind). the piercer didn't answer my calls or text, so we decided to google some other local shops and stopped into one on the way home.
after i'd picked out my new jewelry and had a chat with the piercer, i was ready to have my jewelry changed (it was still healing and i was not about to fuck that up by trying to do it myself). after a lot of uncomfortable poking and bleeding, the piercer had to call his co-worker in to see if he might be any more successful. which, he wasn't. after more poking and bleeding, he says, "i'm sorry to tell you this but whoever pierced your nose really fucked it up."
apparently it was pierced at a crooked angle (it didn't appear crooked from the outside, but in retrospect this explained a lot). he suggested i remove the jewelry altogether and allow it to heal for several weeks. the guy offered to re pierce it at a generous discount.
when my original piercer finally responded, i told him what i had been told. his response? "Ya, well things happen." verbatim. end of conversation.
don't go to dermaltec in jim thorpe, pa. i had been planning to get pierced in philly, and wound up doing it on a whim instead. the place was clean and new, but not at all professional. endless ink in lehighton, on the other hand, were a great deal more considerate. moral of the story is, if you're going to let someone put a needle through your face, ensure that person gives a shit about your face to begin with. fin.
