Derrick & Madalyn’s wedding anniversary was coming up & he wanted to plan something special. He booked a weekend stay at a bed & breakfast on the other side of the island. They were excited to spend some quality time together, especially since Derrick is almost always gone for work.

Friday night rolled around & Peyton had barely left her room. Derrick & Madalyn were leaving for their weekend trip & wanted to say goodbye to the kids before going. Ezra ran down the stairs to hug & kiss his parents, but Peyton stayed upstairs messaging her friends about her plan to sneak out.

End of summer grilling is a necessity.

To make up for cancelling the family outing, Derrick arranged a late grill & table tennis night instead.

It’s Peyton’s birthday! She had a fun little pool party with plenty of guests & cake!

The bed and breakfast was on the other side of the island, so it was a bit of a drive. Rain had started not long after they’d left, but they didn’t pay much attention to it since Madalyn was worried about how they left things. Maybe she’d been too hard on Peyton? Derrick kept reassuring her that everything would be fine & that they’d smooth it over after their trip.
