Day 7: Underrated moment
For me, an underrated moment would be the end of 403. Damon happens to be home and happens to stop Elena from losing control and killing Matt. Damon also forgets about how he was supposed to leave town because Elena needs him to survive vampirism. The fact that Damon happens to be there is what makes it so underrated because even in this "tiny" moment, Damon is saving her. He has always been there for her when she's needed him. Damon is the one who ends up seeing the darkest sides of Elena, but he doesn't try to make them lighter, he tries to help her deal with the darkness. I have always thought that this scene kind of encompasses their relationship. It shows the trust, the greyness, the selflessness and the conflict that is Delena. They will find each other in the darkest of places because only they understand each other's darkness. They will forget previous promises, because the well being of the other is all that matters. They will fall in love with the good and the bad,because they know that none comes without the other.
