How Sable managed to slip away was beyond the conduit’s comprehension. One moment the black canine was standing at his side and then the next he just disappeared like a shadow. Turning, he’s greeted by the sight of the hound snuggling up to another, which was unusual.

Picking up a slow pace, he makes a whistling noise with his teeth, not noticing the oddity of eyes just yet from the man rubbing under his pet’s jaw.

Reggie isn't a very artistic person, so he doesn't quite get his siblings art block. Sometimes he'll offer ideas like go draw the dock horizon or just take a break, but he always makes sure his brother is feeling good about his art.

Mortals generally came to the Land of the Remembered somewhat dazed, but happy. Newly cut off from their earthly shapes, the soul readjusted in a bubbly fog to its new environment. As if dreaming, they accepted whatever came to them as logical and right - be it the horseman with his list of names, or La Catrina herself to greet the new arrival. 

So this one, already, was markedly different. There was an aura to her of birth, not death, strange and foreign in the realm the goddess inhabited. She came in golden light and raining flower petals to sit on a low, skull-shaped rock swimming in the pink and purple grasses at the edge of her Land.

When not buried alongside their families, children's graves were placed near the church for blessings by all who walked by and so that they could all be celebrated for Dia de los Angelitos, all remembered for as long as the church stood guarding them. As their little ones came to visit, families would know then that the goddess had taken their children under her wing and that they would be safe and warm and happy until other relatives came to join them. 

La Catrina stood near the mourner, and did her very best to assure him that this little girl as well as the rest was safe with her and adored in her land. She cast a glance back at the moon, and the light shone just so, illuminating the front of the headstone and casting it nearly in gold. Each letter stood out, crystalline with nighttime dew. 

"She lives," whispered Catrina, voice like the wind, barely audible. "As long as you keep her in your heart. Come inside the chapel and rest on the pews out of the cold."

La Muerte walked along the graves covered in flowers, candles, breads and sweets. Smiling at all the remembered souls graves. “It is so good to see the living remembering those they have lost” she said with a happy sigh.

The 8 year old bows as a man passes and threw a few coins to his violin case, saying a thank you in his own language. He notices someone is following his music. The night is still silent. Still playing his violin, he follows the source of the sound. He jumps to the fountain’s stony edges, continuing his melody. He founds it in the dark. There was a man, with a guitar. It’s unusual for him to see a man playing music this late. But well, different town. He continues the music, slowly collaborating.

There is a bright smile that had quickly spread through his lips as he heard the young boy's music. There was nothing he enjoyed more than music, and seeing a youngster being able to show his potential was something he absolutely adored. Slowly, Manolo took a couple of steps closer to the other, his hands softly stroking chords as he collaborated with the other. "You're incredibly talented my young fellow." He muttered softly as the music continued to fill the silent air.
