listen, desert light would 100% adopt darling dear ( @kf-tea‘s Lily) and teach her How To Be Her Own Ponymonster, largely by exposing her to as many things as possible (and occasionally getting teary that she never got anything resembling a chance to know about any of them)
Desert Light and Shadow: Capturing the Dance of Dunes and Sunlight
Desert Light and Shadow" explores the mesmerizing interplay between light and shadow in the vast, sun-scorched landscapes of the desert. Desert Light and Shadow's captivating collection delves into the unique ways sunlight interacts with the undulating dunes and rugged terrain, creating dynamic patterns and dramatic contrasts. Each photograph reveals the subtle nuances of light as it casts long, sweeping shadows and illuminates the intricate textures of the desert floor. Through these images, viewers are invited to experience the desert's serene beauty and ever-changing character, where the harshness of the environment is softened by the delicate artistry of nature’s light. "Desert Light and Shadow" is a visual journey that celebrates the desert's enigmatic allure and the profound impact of light on its timeless landscape.
This is a view from our back yard in Baja California Sur, one I’ve painted in varying compositions for a few years. I chose this day due to the billowy, color-tinged clouds, unusual here in winter, that cast an orange tint over the parts of the landscape that were lit. Ours is a desert occupied by hundreds of thousands, if not millions of carbon cacti, some hundreds of years old, and green desert brush because of the late rains in fall.
I love photographing a Coca Cola truck when I see one. You just can’t beat the light in the desert. Hanksville, UT, 2012.
