A&G Adventures: Chasing Legends and Finding Gold?
There’s something about the desert air and the crunch of gravel beneath your boots that makes the impossible feel just within reach. Yesterday, Gidget and I set off on what was supposed to be another one of our off-the-grid treks into forgotten history: the search for the Lost Gold Bell Mine..
We’ve poured over maps, lore, and every crusty tale of misplaced gold from old timers and ghost town gossip. The Gold Bell Mine was said to be tucked somewhere near Newmans Peak —so that’s where we headed.
About three hours into the hike, something caught my eye on the trail. At first glance, it looked like just another quartz-stained rock, the kind you find scattered across these hills.
My heart actually skipped a beat. I’m not saying we struck it rich (not yet), but it felt like a moment. A message, maybe, from the land itself. Keep going.
🪨 Here's the rock that might’ve just whispered a secret from the earth (see the photos). And those tiny specs on my fingertip? Yeah… they’re what dreams are made of.
