     “Got a light?” Tapping the cigarette on the counter, Catherine frowned, staring intently at it as though it might light itself. Of course, she knew the tobacco ‘wasn’t healthy’, but considering how long she’d been alive... It hardly mattered. If radiation couldn’t kill her, she doubted a handful of cigarettes would. 

    The train of thought ended and Catherine realized she should probably look at the person she’d spoken to. “If you don’t mind, that is.”

“Hello- can I get you anything?” Cassie smiled at the stranger, fingers of one hand drumming against the countertop. There was something familiar, but Cassie couldn’t quite put her finder on what. 

“I have a special on ammo- buy three magazines, I’ll give you the fourth for free.” She’d read some old pre-war adverts that advertised such deals, and they seemed to work well! Or they must have, considering how many similar offers there had been.

14. What do they care deeply about? What kind of loyalties, commitments, moral codes, life philosophies, passions, callings, or spirituality and faith do they have? How do these tend to be expressed?

Darling holds many things dear to her and when she cares it’s almost always too deeply. When it comes to loyalty her family takes the top spot, she’d do anything in her power to keep them safe and happy, and when push comes to shove she’ll always side with them above anyone or anything else.

She values kindness, honesty, and hard work not just in other people, but in herself. She believes in always giving second chances and tries probably too hard to find the best in other people.

She believes in the idea of a loving God, and firmly believes that everything happens for a reason, even if you can’t see it right away. 

All of this can be seen in her daily actions and the way she conducts herself. She always tries to be fair and just, always tries to do the right thing even if it’s hard, even if she doesn’t get anything out of it. Very often, this can lead to her being taken advantage of.

15. What kind of inner life do they have — rich and imaginative? Calculating and practical? Full of doubts and fears? Does it find any sort of outlet in their lives?

Darling daydreams a lot. She’s very imaginative and can often be found just staring off when left to her own accord. She likes to play the ‘what if’ game of what can happen in her life, imagine how she’ll spend her time once she gets inside the Strip.

On less optimistic days when she’s been on her own too long she’s very prone to loneliness and tends to get homesick. When those doubts start to trickle in, she writes letters to send back home.

16. Do they dream? What are those dreams like?

Darling dreams very often. Typically these are very grounded in reality and often include her reliving moments of her past, both positive and negative.

17. Are they more shaped by nature or nurture — who they are, or what has happened to them? How have these shaped who they’ve become as a person?

Darling is shaped both by nature and nurture, and was lucky enough to have a positive hand with both of those. When you meet Darling’s family you’d very much understand how she turned out the way she did. Her mother was kind and caring with a firm but warm hand, teaching strong convictions and the importance of trying to understand someone before you judge them. Her father was energetic and adventurous, encouraging his kids to follow their hearts and passions, to always try their best and get back up when they’ve been knocked down.

18. What kind of person could they become in the future? What are some developmental paths that they could take, (best, worst, most likely?) what would cause them to come to pass, and what consequences might they have? What paths would you especially like to see, and why? 

With what I have planned for Darling she’s going to go through a lot of struggle and heartache. She’s going to suffer, and suffer greatly. Her convictions will be tested and she’ll see the ugly, rotted side not just of humanity, but herself.

All of this can lead to her either becoming stronger for it and coming out injured but determined to continue being a positive influence, or she’ll turn out just like any other wastelander and hurt people because she’s been hurt.

That hadn’t been what Victoria was expecting. She gave the woman an odd look, eyes narrowing slightly. She was tempted to tease her, tell her that the apology wasn’t nearly heartfelt enough to actually count - but she refrained.

“Then why do it in the first place?”

“Considering I only walked away with one wound from you I suppose that’s a fair exchange rate. It needs to be heart-felt though, or I just won’t be able to accept it.”

🔖- Is your muse a daydreamer? What do they tend to think about? Have they ever caught themselves while lost in thought?

     Sheila thinks about the future a lot and honestly, its no more than the average person with high hopes for themselves does. Meaning…it’s underlying. Always a lil’ bit underlying. What does Sheila tend to think about, on a semi-reoccurring basis? Punching somebody. Slapping somebody. Stepping on somebody’s foot. Cussing somebody out. It doesn’t take a lot for her to be instantly irritated beneath her smile, you know. Because she’s hyper-sensitive in a salty and bitter way.      Does she catch herself lost in these toxic thoughts? Yes. And tells herself to cool down, grow up. She’s not a little kid that can just start fighting because someone said ‘do you know how to talk at room volume?’  

🐰- Does your muse prefer soft, plush textures or smooth and glossy textures?

    Sheila’s a smooth and glossy gal all the way!

🕹- What does your muse do to occupy themselves when bored?

   Work…jk…sort of? Sheila honestly feels the most bored when she has too much free time on her hands. Or when people tell her to lay down, relax, take some time for yourself. Which is nice at first, but the allure is easily gone. But through and through; Sheila’s either going to leave - though not necessarily see friends. Or watch some interesting documentary.
