DAY EIGHTEEN- Ruby or Sapphire
I’ve answered this already, technically. Ruby is my favorite because I kinda relate to her. She’s a hard worker who doesn’t always feel up to others standards. I think Sapphire is charming <3. I honestly think they work so well because there are things they want that each other has. Which makes Garnet so great.
It’s okay Sapphire, Ruby loves you.

DAY TWELVE- Favorite Gem Weapon
Opal’s Bow is glorious and hard to render. It’s simplicity is a lie!
ON a geeky note, I really do love her weapon most of all. It’s a flyass finishing move. THEN the arrow turns into those fairies/butterflies to make you feel worse about yourself losing.

Day Eleven- Least Favorite Fight
Amethyst vs Pearl was actually a very good fight scene. I think they are both very good fighters. This fight however was really emotional & a learning moment for the both of them + us. We learned more about Homeworld’s plans for the earth!
I decided to play around with the texture of my brushes this time around. I like the effect it has on the sky and the ground!

First image is my earliest attempt at drawing a fusion. It’s not that great. I then recreated the original gems! I only had #3 to work with from Florite & #1 from Sphene. Combining outfits has been interesting. There’s less fun since I didn’t use a shoulder pad design for Sphene.
2nd attempt at Black Opal doesn’t show much of Sphene and is mostly Florite. Areas such as the height of the pants/shoes & triangle arrangements are supposed to represent Sphene but I don’t think it’s clear.
3rd attempt is just to see what pants would look like.
All these wonder woman vibes!
Also why so many fusions? Pearl (Florite’s inspiration) has a lot of fusion characteristics with Rainbow Quartz, Sardonyx, and Opal. So the first three are those. I thought I was done but remembered Sphene mimics Jasper’s clothing. Thus creating the #4 design..
