Here we have "A perfect lolita dress for an orangutan" dress and quote contributed by A. I don't even know where to begin with this piece. It's a true beauty.

The collar is a standing collar bib kind of thing with crooked, lopsided non functional buttons that are just hanging there and dripping with truly awful scratchy fraying raschel lace.

The long sleeves have more of this awful lace sewn up the sides adorned with a big cheaply and poorly sewn on ribbon disaster. In fact, these horrible ribbons adorn the dress everywhere. On the bottom we have these rumpled tiers meeting in the center awkwardly reminiscent of lady parts. This dress is so oddly wide and short. The bodice is too long and the skirt portion? I think it would come up to my mid-thigh. I'd also like to mention that the darts in the front are both pressed in the same direction. I think my favorite part of this dress is that it's so obviously well-loved by the previous owner, it's really quite endearing.

Contributed by A. To a beginner, especially someone coming over into lolita from the more casual side of cosplay, you might not have a developed eye for quality. At first glance the thumbnail doesn't look too bad. But as we look closer... there are so many things going wrong in this piece. Poor quality ribbon. This equivalent to $0.25 cheap ribbon you'd find at a craft store in the bargain bin. As you can see, it's fraying and shiny, highly contrasts against the fabric. On the very last photo, you can see where the corset lacing loop broke and frayed away! The fabric itself is okay, like if it were a cosplay item. The rest of the trim is alright, not top quality but passable if nobody touched it or if it were actually ironed. The construction is overall pretty bad and wonky, about equivalent to something I'd see from a mid-tier novice to journeyman cosplayer. Crooked stitching, some fraying edges, at least everything seems finished but it's coming apart in some areas. I think the half sewn in zipper end hanging out of the armhole is a nice touch.
