It started out like fireworks. They came with little warning in a blaze of colors, varied by techniques, weapons, and intentions and the entire compound was lit up with flashing steel, fiery ashes, and thundering lightning. All of this chaos was further pushed onward by the occasional flash of gold.
Operatives that fought them, and their respective partners, fell like dominos in unconscious heaps.
Minato knew the moment he disbanded Root that Danzo would not comply. He wouldn’t deny that such an organization did have its place…however he could not agree with their training methods. That was a point of contention between the two men and their inability to bow to the other’s conditions is what caused this entire mess to occur in the first place.
Talks broke down, resistance was met, and so the Hokage and his people had to take matters into their own hands. He, along with several teams, was now in the process of locating and liberating the various compounds that housed Root members, both prospective and current. He was currently at the main one. For an hour it was a blitz of chaos as the more hardened and loyal members fought them, however by hour two most if not all had already been defeated and captured. Those that fought were more loyal to Danzo than they were to the village or the Hokage.
Once the dust began to settle reconnaissance began.
Minato would sense a large group of small chakra signatures and followed them to a room. Among them he could also sense a larger, stronger one. Upon slipping into the room, idly dodging the traps set in place, he found himself in a room of young children plus a teenager who was their apparent protector. With him was a Smeargle, which seemed fitting since the young man held a sketch pad. Minato’s Pikachu, who sat on the blonde’s head, peered down at the other Pokémon and teen curiously.
“…It’s over.” Minato commented quietly, wary as to what the other may do or say.
