Togami glared at the next problem on his math assignment in frustration. After discovering that that he and his sister were both gifted in math, their teacher had gotten annoyed and assigned him an extra fifty math problems and made them all due the next morning, then forbidden him from working on it in any of their other classes. Unfortunately, the woman favored other women gifted in math, so she had actually invited Ren to have lunch with her instead and wouldn’t take no for an answer. Despite her best efforts Ren hadn’t been able to turn her down considering that she had been threatened with detention for being rude, so he was using his own lunch break to finish the work in the library. He was already on question twenty-five, but there was only half an hour left. Looking at these problems, he could tell that she had taken them from an advanced calculus book, which only solidified his conviction that she was a pretentious person with a grudge against men. He could understand not being fond of men in power as he and his sister often felt the same, but taking it out on a talented student was just petty.
His head was already beginning to ache when he heard footsteps approaching, and he could taste the annoyance on his tongue as he looked up and saw a familiar pair of pink-tinted pigtails. “Enoshima, this isn’t a good time to bother me--I’d say this work was a hundred times more important than you, but any number multiplied by zero is still zero.”
