Chibiusa pulled down her torn stocking and revealed a scrape she’d managed to make after tripping off the curb and into the street outside her townhouse complex. It stung, and though it might not be the worst injury in the world, it sure felt like it in the moment. Tears came to her eyes quickly and she sharply inhaled while assessing the damage.

Not one bit of this did Francis enjoy. Of course, not many people could enjoy something like this--- at least none that Francis personally knew. If you enjoyed being surrounded by monsters everywhere you went in a strange place that honestly--- you don’t know anything about, well. He’d have a few questions for you.
What he wouldn’t give to go back home, lamenting momentarily over why he was dropped in this god forsaken place, one after the other. It was pure misery. Was it perhaps divine punishment for his past sins? Sure, he knew he hadn’t been the best he could have been in his life, but what nation could live a life without doing some bad things, right?
“Ahhh.” Francis breathes out, having found a moment of peace--- he should really get somewhere safe instead of where he was now, hiding in an alleyway. “This certainly is not my best moment...”

It’d been a few days, now, since the first swarms of monsters had begun appearing. They might have started at midnight, but the flood never seemed to end. Ebb and flow, certainly; but never end.
‘Exhausting’ didn’t begin to cover it.
At the moment, it was reasonably quiet in this area. Probably because Cloud was in the middle of this ‘safe’ zone, damn near sitting on top of the constructor beacon, trying to get some rest. Nor was he the only one around.
On the other hand, he was also one of the few around here who wasn’t wounded (much). Cloud might not be able to heal, but he could at least patch a wound and sew some stitches into place. Better than nothing, at least.
Hopefully there’d be some good news, soon. Or at least a chance to pause before he went out to what resembled the front line around here.

Not every human liked this sudden invasion of privacy but she figured that, in this instance, it would be alright as long as she explained herself. “ While a sentry turret’s primary purpose is to rip intruders into itty bitty pieces, research has found that the resulting gore makes the people we would have saved sad. Usually. ” Not that she had any personal experience with this, fortunately.
“ So we’re also equipped with these nice, soothing voices. That way you forget just how terrible your life is. ”
“ But I digress. You’re currently in no danger but your face seems so sad. Can I try cheering you up? ”

“.....you look like you need serious sleep.” Mangu commented. Then again, with the way this place looked, he didn’t blame the other for not getting good rest. Then again this person might have been here longer than he have.
