This French Lemon Tart is a traditional dessert with a buttery crust and a lemon custard that is sour and cool. It's great for any event and will definitely impress!
Ingredients: 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and cubed. 1/4 cup granulated sugar. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 3 large eggs. 3/4 cup granulated sugar. 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice. 1 tablespoon lemon zest. 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted. Powdered sugar, for dusting optional.
Instructions: Set the oven to 350F 175C and heat it up. Put flour, sugar, salt, and cubed butter into a food processor and pulse it a few times to make coarse crumbs. Spread the dough out in a tart pan and press it into the bottom and up the sides. Put it away for 30 minutes. Set the crust aside and bake it for 15 minutes. Take it out of the oven and let it cool down a bit. Whisk the eggs, sugar, lemon juice, lemon zest, and melted butter together in a bowl until everything is well mixed. Pour the lemon mix into the crust that has only been partially baked. For another 20 to 25 minutes, or until the filling is set, bake the dish. Take it out of the oven and let it cool all the way down. If you want, you can sprinkle powdered sugar on top before serving.
