during the pandemic I've been starting each day by reading a poem out loud to myself. one of the poets I've often turned to is Czeslaw Milosz. The poems he wrote during WWII capture perfectly, for me, the times we are living through today. This morning I noticed this quote on the back of his book: "To find my home in one sentence, concise, as if hammered in metal. Not to enchant anybody. Not to earn a lasting name in posterity. An unnamed need for order, for rhythm, for form, which three words are opposed to chaos + nothingness."
