Chapter 3
Boarding
On the arrival to Krak Bak Caye a must-needed vacation from all the craziness from the rental home. Getting up from the waiting area I walked down to the runaway.
Reaching down for my camera, I snap some shots of the airport.
The flight attendants and pilot instruct us to put our luggage onto the cart, and help the small group board the plane. One of them flight attendants hand me the headset to hear the pilot speak while in the cockpit.
While he is instructing us on the safety and about the vacation spot.
“Ladies and gentlemen, the Captain has turned on the Fasten Seat Belt sign. If you haven’t already done so, please stow your carry-on luggage underneath the seat in front of you or in an overhead bin. Please take your seat and fasten your seat belt. And also make sure your seat back and folding trays are in their full upright position.
If you are seated next to an emergency exit, please read carefully the special instructions card located by your seat. If you do not wish to perform the functions described in the event of an emergency, please ask a flight attendant to reseat you.
We remind you that this is a non-smoking flight. Smoking is prohibited on the entire aircraft, including the lavatories. Tampering with, disabling, or destroying the lavatory smoke detectors is prohibited by law.
If you have any questions about our flight today, please don’t hesitate to ask one of our flight attendants. Thank you."
I take a picture of the inside of the plane. before placing it back underneath the seat.
Takeoff
Putting on my seatbelt and looking out the window. Closing my eyes and listening to the engine start-up. My body begins to shake from the whole plane adjusting to the blades of the plane twirling around.
The pilot announces through the headset
" Thank you for flying with us today, the skies are clear. We will begin taking off shortly. Our flight time today estimates we will be there in a 30 to 40-minute flight."
“Flight attendants, prepare for take-off please.” “Cabin crew, please take your seats for take-off.”
As we pass above the clouds and the turbulence dies down. I look around and see the views of the turquoise sea below and the white of the clouds as the sun beams down.
Landing
Looking out the window see the island coming into view. Our pilot gets back onto the headset and announces our arrival.
"Ladies and gentlemen Welcome to Krak Bak Caye! Local time is 3:08 PM and the temperature is 74 degrees. For your safety and comfort, please remain seated with your seat belt fastened until the Captain turns off the Fasten Seat Belt sign. This will indicate that we have parked at the gate and that it is safe for you to move about."
On behalf of Krak Bak Caye Airlines and the entire crew, I’d like to thank you for joining us on this trip and we are looking forward to seeing you on board again in the near future. Have a nice day/evening/night/stay!”
