When researching sustainable destinations, the one that interested me the most was Destination Røros in Norway. Røros was placed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 1980 due to it’s history within Norway. The town and region have developed a set of sustainable practices which include a holistic approach towards tourism involving all stakeholders as well as the region’s cultural and natural heritage which are the main focal points for their tourism ventures.
