Who’s your favorite MC and who’s your least favorite MC

#1 Favorite MC: Masquerade Kiss MC
I think my favorite MC is obvious to guess, and as a mainly MK blog I cannot fight the allegations, but it’s the MK MC ofc!!
She’s the type of main character I have been praying to see ever since I started playing otome games. She’s the one who actually manages to put up a good fight with the guys or literally outsmart them. OUTSMART THEM. O.U.T.S.M.A.R.T. My queen. It doesn't happen often in otomes which is why it has me screaming
Also, I said this before in another ask but she’s a strong feminine figure without falling into the "anti-men" category of feminism. She’s extremely well written with no extremes, not too weak, nor too cruel. I like that she can both be strong and also choose to sacrifice herself. She follows her intuition and what’s meaningful to her. She fights for justice, and will go against her own justice system (the EAC) when it starts crumbling and go to a darker side.
I don’t hate MCs who are depicted as clumsy, weak, overly kind or a bit silly all the time. I just dislike that there’s so many of them. Thankfully, newer titles seem to have funnier or more relatable MCs! Now, they’re more important and actually lead the story. They’re not just observers with very limited or poor reactions to what is being done to them anymore it seems, finally.
Anyway, this queen right here is an inspiration and a role model
#2 Favorite MC: Her Love in The Force MC
I also love the HLITF MC! She’s my second favorite 🥺❤️She’s hilarious, relatable a lot of times, clumsy in either an embarassing way… or in a cute way 🤣 I love her evolution and how she realizes what it’s really like to work for Public Security despite her naive attitude and kindness. She's becoming stronger and smarter as time goes on. If I had one critical thing to say, and it's only a wish of mine, but it’s that I want more moments or her outsmarting other characters or taking down enemies.
In every route, she has to endure many horrible comments said straight to her face, being belittled a lot of times (by side characters too, mainly) either on her skills or a few times on her appearance even though she's a cutie pie.
In a way, her resilience and happy-go-lucky nature of hers is a strength and these comments don’t take her down for long, but I still wish she had more banter and opportunities to show off her skills to prove them wrong. I wish she was bolder more often? Maybe that’s it.
She’s great and it’d be amazing and inspiring to see her fight or solve a case on her own, or be the key in solving it more often! I really want to see her throw an enemy to oblivion with style 😂
Least Favorite MC: Destind MC
The Destind MC is part of the reason why I had too much trouble finishing or continuing Takane’s route. It was the first time I experienced that, but I remember thinking she was insufferable to follow through this story.
This is my own opinion, but aside from the title’s overall poor writing at times, the MC herself was poorly written. The key moments in Takane’s story felt rushed. And the way she competed with him and said she was going to make him love her even though he acted like an ass at first made me so embarassed, I still remember the feeling of reading it now.
To me, she had no natural response or reaction to what Takane said or did. I don’t understand why she would go to such lengths to make a guy like him love her just for her own ego. The plot was objectively forced. It was honestly painful and pitiful to read. It didn’t make her value herself much, and that’s not really my type of thing.
There’s also the fact that compared to other MCs who put a lot of work into themselves or are talented, there’s pretty much nothing going on for Destind’s MC imo. I don’t mind that she’s a normie, but make her more interesting through some banter? Her hobbies? Her reactions? I thought she was really childish and demanding, with nothing appealing to even like her a bit. If you'll make a Main Character, GIVE HER ACTUAL CHARACTER
I think I’ll stop destroying her image for now 🤣 Really though, no offense to those who do love her and the title. I think the title had amazing potential, I’m just sad it didn’t go a certain way and that the writing of the love stories had nothing special to it. It's too bad considering the concept of a dating app giving accurate compatibility was very original
