Been a minute since I've done a #mcm, so it's time to do one! Mine this week is Thorsten Schuck of Neopera. . Neopera are a symphonic metal band that I discovered a few years ago through a metal blog on Tumblr. They not only feature a soprano and a guy on growls, but they also have a tenor/baritone, and that's Thorsten. It's so rare to find a symphonic metal band with a tenor/baritone on lead vocals, so it makes sense that when I found out they did that I would lose my shit. I know of only a few other bands that feature a tenor on lead vocals (Ruins of Elysium, Eternus, Tverd and Goldenhall are the first ones that come to mind). If I had to compare them to anyone, I'd say they're an Epica-Therion love child. . Thorsten has such a lovely voice. The power he exudes in The Marvel of Chimera and Equilibria and the beauty of it in Last Pantomime never fail to send chills throughout my body. And the jacket her wears in the video for Error is to die for! .
