Happy Holidays and DW5XL Destiny mode
Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Early Kwanzaa and Happy early Boxing day (for those in Canada). Happy everything else i did not put down i hope you guys are doing good so far.
DW5XL had a good amount of modes to use. If you had a DW5 copy and transferred data onto the XL you had a lot of modes to choose from. Musou mode, free mode, Challenge mode, Legend mode, Xtreme mode (coming back from DW4 with few changes), edit mode and destiny mode. Destiny mode is you create a character and go through to conquer china under your officer that you choose kingdom. You will be asked for their name, gender, look, weapon and the officer from either Wei, Wu, or Shu that you want to serve under. Some say that it's an RPG because there's skills that you have to get with points you get per stage by objectives you accepted before the battle, but it's still a musou game mode. You are still slashing people without having going through a menu saying you want to attack, you're just doing it. Getting skills and promoted from just a private is going to be an essential for surviving 8 stages. Think of having a musou mode, with your custom characters, with added things that make it different. No matter what force you start in you will always start at the Yellow Turban Rebellion stage, if you want a good contribution rating here then stick by your officer and kill people around him. There are 4 titles you can have, Private, Sergeant, Major and Lt. General. Higher up you go, the more skills are available and could have the chance to unlock costumes for your characters. Getting certain skills and rank may unlock a costume. At the end of the 8 stages you will get an overall rating and a summary of your life.
