A Destitute Design -- Sierra&Gerard
He kicked her out. It had only been three months, and Sierra could kind of see why it had happened, but that didn't mean that she was pleased with the action. Michael was unlike the rest of her boyfriends--he actually caught on to what she was doing. Using men for their homes, their gifts, and in return, giving them companionship and sex. Sierra had hoped it would have been a lot longer than three months before the man realized he was being used, but she was wrong... And now she was back on the streets once more.
The girl wasn't proud of the way she handled relationships. She was by no means happy with herself and her ways of wringing guys dry and then throwing them away, but it was a survival technique that she had picked up after many years out on her own. The world was cruel, and it wasn't a place for kindness. Never had she been shown kindness, and so why should she show it back?
Sierra was lost in her thoughts, her bag slung over her shoulder. It was filled with a few articles of clothing, basic hygiene necessities, and some food. It was her world, and everything she owned. The only other thing that she did have was a cell phone that Michael had bought her and agreed to not turn off so that he could make sure that she was alright from time to time. I guess that's what happened when someone cared for you...
The light sprinkle of moisture from the sky pulled the girl from her own mind, causing her to look up and wipe her eyes, only then realizing that she had been crying. Had she developed feelings for him, too...? No, that was impossible... She barely knew the man, and it wasn't like she loved him or anything absurd like that. It had to have been just a reaction to being on the streets again--of course, that was it.
Finding her way to a small plaza in the middle of a shopping center on the side of the road, Sierra took a seat at a bench and began observing those around her. The big city held so many interesting people, and so many seemed to just be surviving, not living at all. It was pathetic, watching them mill about and see that they only cared for themselves.
...But wasn't that how she was, too...?

Aria sat in her basement with her cat in her lap. She couldn't help but smile at the little black lump that loved her attention. She scratched its cheeks and belly when it rolled over. She kissed the top of its head softly before trying to set it aside, though it relentlessly tried to crawl back on her lap. It made her giggle quietly, and she stood up. The kitten mewed, and she picked it up. "God, you are so needy." She muttered. Her eyes drifted up to see a form standing in front of her. "How long have you been standing there exactly? I know I am not that observant, but I'd like to know that I'm not that oblivious."
