it was weird to have a new person friend seeing their clubhouse, but it was even weirder that stan had invited the interloper boy. eddie knew that he could trust his most sensible friend’s judgement, but his natural caution got the better of him. after what surely felt like a lifetime of quizzical and judgmental looks, the surrounding group of losers had split so that it would be foolish not to t r y talking to him.

there is a bravery in being soft, a bravery in the way that you held yourself despite all that you had scene - all that you had suffered. brittle bird boned boy, how often you wished you could fly away. wished that perhaps for a moment there was something better on the other side. better yet, wishing that for a moment - life would stop throwing you curveballs until you had properly learned to hit them back. lithe fingers grip the receiver, knuckles turning white. you harboured both your fathers' anger and your mothers' softness - two parts to make one whole only you weathered any storm you created with silence. this held no difference. the moments passed in silences, eyes boring into the wall ahead of you. you had long been forgotten in the shadow of your brothers passing and it was near fitting that you be once more forgotten here.
