a blonde woman is staring at riley with narrowed, blank eyes as she looks at the cambion up and down. even from a comfortable distance, the woman smells of alcohol and sways despite standing in one place. it's an uncomfortable amount of silence before bad girl scoffs, seemingly done profiling the other.    For better or worse, Riley was in her element at the bar. Red-by-way-of-mahogany leather seats, some indecipherable sports game in a corner, and the low rumble of enjoyment too subdued to be revelry. It was a hunting ground, and a resting place. So when the teensy blonde started her ogle, it was with almost languid amusement that Riley glanced back. Her demon reached out, weighed the possible trouble of association with the rewards of beginning groundwork. Its result: not worth the time. 

   So the softball line was batted back with a snort, and little more. Her clothes were fine, and it was easy bait. Not going to rise to it; there was the odd weirdo now-and-again that got two beers in them and thought they were God. Might wanna loosen up your corset, she thought, but was too courteous to say, not enough air’s getting to your brain. “Thanks, but I don’t take advice from Barbie cosplayers. You should keep on stumblin’.”

       THERE WERE MANY COMPLAINTS from the gunslinger since she’d been brought back to overwatch through the recall -- she hated it there, she had her own reservations established with the organisation ( especially from her time in blackwatch ). but now she just chooses to be a nuisance despite the clear ability to go to the infirmary -- she’d insist she isn’t sick even through the cold shivers that run through her body.

on MOST days, jak would be having fun and goofing off. skateboarding down the hallway , vandalising the bathrooms , fucking around in class , the works. but today ?? today , he was making DETERMINED stride after stride in the halls, a heavy bag slung over his shoulder. today, he was a MAN WITH A MISSION.
