The end of an era.
I have been an Underoath fan for 6+ years.
My mom just came down stairs while I was listening to them after seeing them last night and sat and listened to them with me. My mom does not like hardcore music at all. While we were listening to them I just started to cry because I realized that THIS, last night was it. I mean I'll always have their music that they've made but they're done. DONE. Underoath has always been a constant in my life every since middle school when a girl who I used to be friends with them introduced them to me.
I owe a lot of bands credit for me still being here after going through a couple rough patches and I definitely owe these guys some credit. When I lost myself a couple years ago and was spiraling down to a really low point in my life Underoath was one band among others to bring me back up to myself, they pulled me out of darkness. I also had recently left a bad relationship because again they were one of the bands that had given me strength with songs like "I'm content with losing", "Too Bright to see Too Loud to Hear," ect. I owe these guys a lot and I'm writing again because I feel like this is a better expression of my thoughts. They have always been a constant in my life and I want to Thank them for everything that they have done. Every word they have written and every note they have recorded. I also want to thank ALL 4 bands on their final tour for putting on a fantastic show. I sincerely hope to see Underoath regroup one day because they have done A LOT for me and I know other fans feel the same way. I'm both happy and sad to see them go. I will hold their songs and words close to my heart.
