I saw something today that pissed me off. At my local pet store the had a hognose in sand. If i had the money i would of bought it but they were selling them as a breeding pair and wanted $150 for them

I mean if they are charging $150 for a wildtype hognose they have no idea what they are dealing with anyway.

In the wild, hognoses do occur in sandy areas, but they should not be housed on sand in captivity, you are quite right; the risk of impaction is not worth taking.
