Do you know anyone/thing you'd recommend for someone with no programming experience that wants to make a game?

Decide an engine. Unity, Unreal, Gamemaker, etc. Then just look up tutorials from there. Google will be your best friend and people love to help when they can. I use Gamemaker and Shaun Spalding is great for his tutorials: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCn7FE3Tx391g1tWPv-1tv7QOf course you can also ask someone to help program, but you better have a great idea or money to offer. You won’t make your dream game right away, so do baby steps.

Do you have any advice for someone trying to make a game? I have literally no artistic talents to go along with it and I’m super inspired by BOO!

Learn an aspect of game design. Programming, Music, Art, Writing, or something to contribute. You don’t have to be talented, you just have to be willing to put the hard work in.

so you only get demo in between now and 2020 id your a beta backer. but what if you want to play the beta and are willing to pay?

Buy the full game and only play to where the demo ends. That easy.I am being a smart ass, but we will not be taking any money in exchange for backer rewards. 

Since A LOT of people are asking (we get like 5 asks a day about this, I hope it isn’t the same person.) We might open donations again, but it won’t be for backer rewards, it’ll just be for getting your name in the credits or something super simple and easy. Nothing is definite but it’s just something that we are thinking about. Once again we appreciate it, but just hold onto it for now.

Hey. I saw a clip of your game and it looks awesome. What was your main inspiration for developing this game? It kinda looks like a mix of earthbound meets super Mario rpg

A lot of GBA games of the time. Mostly Mother 3, Paper Mario, and M&L games. Plus some anime influences as well.
