Corona del Diablo
Underwater volcanic cone of the Devil's Crown, off the coast of Floreana, Galapagos.
HDR put together with Photomatix. Without HDR, either the rocks get too dark or the blue of the ocean gets washed out.
Sun’s cradle.
The benefit of having one of the most experienced guides in the Galapagos is that they know exactly where and when they need to be to see a scene like this. Devil’s Crown is the rim of a volcanic crater that’s been eroded down by the waves and the wind to create one of the best snorkeling sites in the whole of the Galapagos. The strong ocean current will push you right through the center over the rays, sharks, sea lions, and beautiful tropical fish.
