Devil’s Only Friend
He got home eventually. What should have been a fifteen minute walk back from the park managed to take almost half an hour; his mind was racing.
Before he knew it he was opening the door, still trembling. He’d left the body there, pockets full of stolen goods. If the police were good for anything, it was damning the criminals of this city. The boy would be looked at as scum. Providing it wasn’t Ryou or Anzu that found him, anyway. He doubted it would be.
He moved straight to the kitchen and dumped his belongings on the table, the broken usb cable having been tied around his wrist. He pulled the bloody knife out of his hoodie pocket and threw it in the sink, ripping the hoodie off and throwing it down next to his washing machine.
Then he stood there, just staring for a while. He felt nothing. He should have felt guilt or - or something.
Well, nothing was wrong. He was pleased with himself, he supposed - he’d got the USB back. That was about it.
He heard Zorc step into the room, but he didn’t say anything to him. He just glanced back at him.
