Ondine Rivas as Lizbeth
Lizbeth is the creature that has been lurking in the Bayou. She is a meek and timid soul, terrified that humans will hunt her down. She is simultaneously tired of being alone, and wishes to find other monsters like herself to connect with. When Lizbeth sees that some humans have entered her lagoon, she spies on them, making sure they don’t have any weapons. At first she avoids them out of fear, until she trusts them enough to get closer. She talks with each of them, getting to know their personalities and backgrounds. She felt the most comfortable with Charagh, but said no to Kumiko’s offer for her to come back with them to civilization. She was thankful for the two of them and the captain helping in waking her up when the businesswoman in their group sedated her without their permission, allowing her to whoop Marcy’s ass. They do make sure she doesn’t drown though, so she can be arrested and tried for her crimes. A certain squad of monsters had heard reports of the Lagoon creature and wanted to help her out. They send out Khanh as he is also a reptilianesque creature. It’s love at first sight for the both of them, with Khanh promising she’ll never be alone again.

Jabir is a marine biologist, on the expedition in case this is merely an endangered species that needs protecting, or a new species entirely that can be studied. He is the wisest and most pacifistic of the group, only wanting to observe from a safe distance and to leave the creature alone. Kumiko is an extremely green and enthusiastic researcher, wanting to take photos and maybe learn how to track the creature to see if there are any more. Lana is the captain of the ship, and all she cares about is making sure it doesn’t fuck up her boat. After meeting and saving Lizbeth, Jabir and Kumiko spent the rest of their lives discovering and helping out other lagoon creatures while Lana retired and began teaching sailing.
Devine Duggar as Marcy Wilson
The businesswoman who hired Lana to be her captain. She only is in it for the money, planning on taking the creature and either turning it into an attraction or killing it and selling it to the highest bidder. She was lucky to be alive after Lizbeth wasn’t sedated any longer and beat the crap out of her. She was found innocent by a court since Lizbeth wasn’t classified as a human or animal, but was later imprisoned for tax fraud.
