Tina heard rather than saw the rodent scurry under her door.  And she might have been angry, except she knew what to expect next.  

Knuckles rapped sharply on her door and she waited a few moments to collect herself before rising to answer it.  "Yes...what is it, Newt?" she asked, smiling slightly at her nervously twitchy, across-the-hall neighbor.  

"Yes...right...it looks like Niffler's gotten away again?"  His eyes weren't looking at her, they were scouring the floor of her apartment.  

She stood back to allow him entrance.  "I think I heard him come in…"  

"I really am quite sorry about all this…"

Tina wasn't.  She rather enjoyed Newt's company, even if animals weren't allowed in their building.  "It's alright, Mr. Scamander.  Would you like some tea?"

So I wrote a thing...

I was inspired by this photo by @deviousdiggy and I finally wrote a small ficlet. 

The air was warm as the sun set on a gorgeous summer day. A gentle breeze brushed across the pair as they swayed to the soft melodic sounds of music coming from the radio they placed on the bench. They made no sound, only allowing the washing of the ocean’s waves and the steady beat of the music fill the air. They couldn’t take their eyes off each other. His eyes gazed deeply into hers, the love he felt so clearly shined through and she couldn’t help but fall deeper into his gaze, a shy smile on her lips. He loves her smile, so much so he can’t help but grin back at her. The song fades out and a new, more upbeat song follows.

She’s can’t help the small laugh that escapes her lips as he doesn’t miss a beat, spinning her outward and back to him, her back to his front, the tempo inspiring his quick moves. She laughs as they dance with abandon, their moves random but complementing each other. It’s a moment she never wants to end. And as the song does end, and she is back into his arms, she is filled with such a deep love for this man. A man who dropped so suddenly into her life, she thanks Merlin for dropping this quirky, strange man into her life that fateful day in New York.

Newt holds Tina close into his arms, his front to her back again, as he sways them in beat with the waves. She can feel his lips on her neck, a smile caressing her neck. Oh, how she loves this man.

She breaks the silence with a whispered, “I love you, Newt.”

“And I love you, my love.” He turns her head toward his, and he presses a firm kiss to her lips. “Happy Anniversary.”

I think the left eye is just slightly too high. I suffer the same illness. It looks great with the first one, and then suddenly something is just OFF.

Newt pressed hot kisses along her throat, her jaw.  She slid the coat from his shoulders, her breath a warm sigh against his skin.  

Tina felt like home.  And he’d been away for so very long.  

“The children?” he murmured softly.  

“Asleep,” she answered.  

“Wouldn’t you rather keep them that way?” he asked with a soft chuckle.  

“Oh!  Of course...right…” she reached for her wand, casting a muffling charm on the room.  “I just...not used to having to do that…”  She giggled and kissed his lips.

His heart wrenched at her words.  He really wasn’t home all that often these days, was he?  

“Well, get used to it, Mrs. Scamander…” he rumbled.  “Because I plan to make good use of that muffling charm in the coming months…”
