This is Zynvara, my character for a Ravnica D&D campaign on my Discord server!
(Simic hybrid, originally half Devkarin/half Simic high elf, Underdark druid; Sultai, centered in green.)
Zynvara was born, before the Decamillennial, to a Vigean Simic high elf and a humble Golgari rot farmer. Her Vigean parent died during Kraj long before she could remember them, and she was raised in the Golgari Swarm by her supportive Devkarin mother. She grew up with a deep appreciation for the cycles of nature and longed to study biomancy. With her mother’s blessing, she moved to Zonot Seven to join the Simic Combine.
Zynvara’s core belief is that the magics of life and death are stronger together. This philosophy, along with her heritage, made her an outcast among the Simic until she met the enthusiastic half-elf biomancer Gulistan (an early post about him here, eventually I’ll make updated ones), who accepted her into his friend group and encouraged her not to hide who she was.
She’s currently in Gyre Clade, working on metamagic related to the cyclical patterns of nature. Though her magic does focus on transmutation like most biomancers, she also has a small selection of necromantic spells in her repertoire, and her mana remains grounded in the Undercity of her youth.
Zynvara withdrew into herself after being ostracized, but she’s a good, kind soul at heart, and she’s slowly coming to terms with what it means to have a foot in both the Golgari and Simic worlds. She venerates nature for its own sake, in all its complexity.
She has a small gutter ooze familiar that can help her deliver spells, whether to heal, transform, or harm.
