It truly disturbs my spirit whenever I hear about children being abused, violated and/or killed. I'm so sad to hear about the death of #DevonteHart and his siblings. I pray their spirits find the all the peace and comfort in the Hereafter that they didnt receive in during their lives. #RIPDevonteHart He was earned national attention when a photo of him at age 12 went viral. In the image, tears stream down his face as he embraces a white officer in the middle of a demonstration in #PortlandOregon, related to the fatal police shooting of #MichaelBrown in #Ferguson Missouri. Bruce and Dana DeKalb, who lived near the Hart family, told KATU News they called CPS last week after one of the Hart children came over to their house, asking for food, eventually several times a day. A CPS worker visited the family's home Friday, but no one answered the door. When that worker left, Dana DeKalb said the entire Hart family came out of the house, quickly loaded up their SUV, and took off. DeKalb said she believes the children reached out to her for help for some reason. CPS workers tried to contact the family two more times, on Monday and Tuesday. The Department of Social and Health Services has not made any findings in the case and they have no prior history with the family. Regrann from @theshaderoom - TSR STAFF: Jade Ashley @Jade_Ashley94 _____________________________________ Many people may recognize #DevonteHart after he was photographed hugging an officer in Portland, Oregon during a rally related to the 2014 protests in Ferguson, Missouri. _____________________________________ Now Devonte and two of his siblings have been reported missing after their family’s SUV went over a cliff. _____________________________________ According to @abc7la, the California Highway Patrol identified two adult women, Jennifer Hart and Sarah Hart, who were both 39. Authorities say their vehicle was driving on the “Pacific Coast Highway when it pulled into a dirt turnout and continued driving off the cliff.” _____________________________________ It was learned that the couple had six adopted children; three of their children were confirmed dead due to the crash. _____________________________________ A second search was arranged after it was realized that three additional children were still missing. _____________________________________ Devonte, 15, and his siblings Hannah Hart, 16, and Sierra Hart, 12, are still unaccounted for. This Devonte Hart story has me shook in so many ways.... this little oy has so much hope and love in his heart.... out here breaking color lines..... now come to find out that he was recently going around to all of his neighbors asking them for food because he was starving.... his sister asked for protection because she said one of her mothers was abusing her..... and now it looks like SIX beautiful kids have lost their lives (they found three bodies, looking for the other three) in a family murder-suicide and I cannot. And yes .... right now... the fact that two White women caused the death of six Black children they were supposed to be caring for is weighing on me tough. #devontehart #tragedy
